Debra and I have shared a special bond for over 21 years; we are both grandmothers to the same wonderful granddaughter. Our friendship has grown through family milestones, celebrations, and challenges, and I have seen firsthand the kindness and strength she brings to everyone around her.
Debra has spent her entire life caring for others; today, she urgently needs our help. For decades, Debra has been someone people could rely on in their most vulnerable moments. Even at 71 years old, she was still working two jobs in healthcare, showing up every day with compassion, strength, and a deep commitment to those in her care. She has dedicated her life to helping people heal, recover, and feel seen. Whether it was holding a patient’s hand, comforting families, or stepping in when no one else could, Debra always gave her whole heart.
Now, everything has changed. Debra recently suffered a heart attack and seizure and is currently hospitalized. This sudden and life-altering event has left her unable to work, with a long and uncertain road to recovery ahead. As someone who has always been independent and hardworking, this has been incredibly difficult; not just physically, but emotionally and financially. Right now, Debra is facing mounting medical bills and has no source of income. The financial pressure is immediate and overwhelming.
We are urgently asking for your support to help cover medical expenses, rehabilitation and therapy, daily living costs during recovery, and basic needs while she is unable to work. Time is critical, and any contribution—no matter the amount—will make a real and immediate difference. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser with others. Thank you for your compassion, generosity, and support during this incredibly difficult time.
