Hi, my name is Carla. You may have seen me hanging around Bark Avenue’s lobby—maybe even mistaken me for an employee. But like many of you, I’m simply a regular who came to see Bark Avenue as a second home for my dog: a place where our dogs aren’t just watched, but truly loved.
As you now know, Bark Avenue will be closing its doors this Thursday (May 7) due to circumstances outside of Debra’s control. This has been heartbreaking for our entire community. Still, in true Debra fashion, she is choosing resilience. Her goal is to open her own Animal Services Facility and continue doing what she was clearly meant to do—caring for our animals with the same patience, love, and dedication she shows every single day.
Debra is also a single mom to two amazing boys, and she has worked tirelessly, through many challenges, to build the business we all trust with our dogs. Starting over comes with significant financial strain, and that’s where we can help.
I’m raising funds to support Debra in launching this new facility as quickly as possible, so she can focus on rebuilding—without the overwhelming burden that comes with starting from scratch. Every donation, no matter the amount, will directly help her secure a space, equipment, and the foundation needed to reopen her doors.
I truly believe in the Bark community. If Bark Avenue has ever been more than just a daycare for your dog, this is our chance to give back—to Debra, and to the second home our dogs deserve.
Thank you for your support, generosity, and for being part of this incredible community. ❤️
