Help Debra Heal: A School Bus Driver, Caregiver, and Everyday Hero

We’re asking for your help to support Debra, a devoted school bus driver for Livingston Independent School District and the backbone of her family, who is now facing a long road to recovery after a life-changing injury.

While helping an elderly family member who had fallen, Debra suffered a serious spinal injury. In her effort to lift and care for them, she broke her back — a selfless act that landed her in the hospital, undergoing major surgery.

Now, Debra is unable to work for at least eight weeks as she recovers. This is a huge burden for her family, who rely on her income to cover rent, food, and basic necessities. Debra has always worked hard to support her loved ones and her community — especially the students she safely transports every day as a beloved school bus driver.

She’s the first to lend a hand when someone’s in need — now it’s our turn to return the kindness.
