Our friend Deborah Armstrong woke up on Saturday, July 19th to her husband's alarm going off without stopping. Deborah found her husband slumped over in his recliner. Deborah's husband, Ben Salisbury, had died that morning. Ben's death was completely unexpected. Now Deborah is not only trying to cope with enormous, overwhelming and unprecedented emotional shock of losing her companion of the last 27 years, but she's also dealing with a massive amount of frustrating, formidable, expensive legal work that is necessary after a death. Ben didn't have a will so Deborah cannot access the funds in his account until probate is complete. In the mean time, daily expenses like rent and food as well as the cost of dealing with Ben's death are flowing unstaunched.
