UPDATE 9/20: Rick is home! Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes. He will continue with outpatient cognitive, physical and occupational therapy, but he gets to sleep in his own bed.

UPDATE 9/16: Rick continues to amaze us with his recovery. He has been transferred to Mary Free Bed for some rehabilitation. They're guesstimating he'll be there for about a week. Debi is so appreciative of everyone that has helped so far and asks everyone to keep the prayers coming, because they're working!

UPDATE 9/14: Rick was moved out of ICU and to a recovery room yesterday. He continues to improve, but will need physical therapy to get his mobility and strength back and to work on his short-term memory. Thank you for the continued prayers and support!

On Wednesday, September 10, Rick suffered a widowmaker heart attack after feeling unwell throughout the day. Thankfully, his son was home with him and immediately performed lifesaving measures until EMS arrived. His actions saved his dad’s life, but Rick was without oxygen for a considerable amount of time. Medical personnel had to intervene to get his heart started again, and a stent was placed once he was at the hospital. He has, miraculously, shown some positive signs of recovery but still has a very long road ahead of him.
