Helping Debe Heal

For those of you who know Debe, you know she'd be the first to joke about falling & breaking a hip. Well, it wasn't a hip, but close. On Saturday, March 15th, Debe misjudged the staircase and ended up with a spiral fracture in her tibia, along with multiple other fractures stemming from the original break. She has already undergone two surgeries to repair her leg.

The Challenge Ahead

Debe's road to recovery is just beginning. Her next step is a short-term rehabilitation facility, where she could spend anywhere from 3 to 8 weeks focusing on healing and regaining mobility. During this difficult time, several challenges have emerged:

Medical Expenses: Debe just started a new job at Coborn's in Princeton, and her insurance status is unknown. The mounting medical bills from emergency care, two surgeries, and upcoming rehabilitation threaten to create significant financial strain.

Housing Complications: The timing couldn't have been worse. Debe's moving day came and went while she was busy with surgeries and healing. Large furniture items still need to be moved into her apartment so she'll have a proper place to recover after rehabilitation.

Lost Income: Her injury prevents her from working during her recovery period, so Debe faces weeks without income just as these unexpected expenses are piling up.
