Hey everyone! My name is Allison and I am Debby’s daughter. If you don’t know my moms story here’s a summary (in my words, not hers).

Several years ago now she had a total knee replacement that ended up needing a full revision. She hasn’t been able to walk since either surgery and she is 58!!! This is criminal what they’ve done to her but of course no doctor or surgeon has taken any responsibility. She now needs a third surgery. In the midst of all of this she had a tooth infection and multiple procedures on her tooth which has delayed the knee surgery. She is finally scheduled for late August but y’all the bills are adding up.

Thousands of dollars out of pocket just this week for her tooth. Plus she will be required to stay in Ohio for two full weeks after her surgery which means two weeks of unpaid time off for my dad and almost $3,000 in hotel expense to stay there. And none of this even cracks the surface on the travel to Ohio and back four times this year and all the other expenses they’ve had to make their house accessible for her and all the lost wages while she is unable to work.

We have tried to get the original hospital to own any part of this financially but of course they have refused.

I know times are tough for people right now but my parents are struggling with their situation and I wouldn’t ask if they weren’t. They’ll probably be mad at me for even making this but they need us to rally around them right now and get some of these unexpected costs covered.

Anything helps and I will post updates here throughout her surgery and follow ups. Help get this vibrant young grandma walking again so we and all our kids can enjoy her on her feet again.
