Hi. I am Debbie's daughter, Amanda.
I am starting this fundraiser to help with Mom's end-of-life care, as this has taken us all by surprise.
Three months ago, she was making her jewelry and jeweled spiders as she has done for 20 years and welcoming her great-grandson into the world.
Now, she is facing stage 4 metastatic lung cancer that has spread through all of her lymph nodes, and we are looking at a matter of days.
My mom has been beyond strong for as long as I can remember. She is creative, tenacious, stubborn, and loving. She got sober 24 years ago, and in that time she has helped so many others become sober and go on to live long, fulfilling lives. She has watched the people she helped change for the better and grow. She has always had pride in being able to help care for the people around her.
Not only does she care for strangers, but she has been the main source of comfort and honesty, someone to talk to, and the biggest advisor for her family. She strived to put her family first and care for them always, and it is now our turn to do the same for her when she no longer can.
We are asking that if you have been touched by Debbie's light, if you've been helped by her, laughed with her, comforted by her, or just enjoyed her jewelry, that you consider donating to help us handle the financial burden that comes with losing the most important person in my family's life.
If unable to donate, if you can share this, we would truly appreciate it.
Thank you for reading this far, and thank you in advance for your help.
