If you are reading this, then you have been touched by Debbie's presence in your life. She is fun, fierce, and a loyal friend... and she needs our help. As many of us often do, she struggles with asking for help, so I am here to ask on her behalf.

Debbie has been diagnosed with Stage 2 triple negative breast cancer, caught on her first-ever mammogram. She also tested positive for a genetic mutation that may have increased the risk of breast cancer, but definitely increases her risk of ovarian cancer.

She has a lengthy treatment to beat this.

Phase 1 of chemo is every other week for 12 weeks. Phase 2 is every three weeks for 12 weeks (the chemo is more intense so her body will need more time to recover afterwards).

A few weeks after completing Phase 1 and 2, Debbie will have a full mastectomy. She could have radiation, additional chemo, or just move into immunotherapy at this point, depending on how she has responded to the previous treatments.

After this - she will have surgery to remove her ovaries.

She does qualify for FMLA, but it will be unpaid. Every treatment takes an entire day, and then she is too ill from side effects for at least a day after to work.

Debbie needs our help. Money to help pay for bills and incidentals while undergoing treatment and not being able to work full time, certainly... I also was thinking a gift card drive would be helpful (Walmart, Target, Amazon, Door Dash). I will figure out the best way to get these to her.

Additionally, treatment is in Colorado, so she is not with her boys. If anyone has sky miles they would be willing to donate so she does not have the financial stress of getting her boys out for visits - let me know.
