Hi, I'm Debbie. I'm trying to find a power wheelchair or a mobility scooter. I know money's tight everywhere. I am an amputee, my right leg above the knee and all of the toes on my left. So, I have no balance, which causes me to fall quite often. My last big fall, I broke my left shoulder, so the doctor recommended that I not use crutches. I can do that, except now I have a hard time with my manual wheelchair because the shoulder didn't heal right, which means I can't go anywhere by myself anymore because I can't lift my chair in and out of my car. I'm used to being very independent. If I wear my prosthesis, I still use the chair because I can't walk very far with it. I would like to get the lightest weight power chair or scooter to take back some of my independence. I was going to the gym 5 days a week, mostly for aqua classes. Now, I can't even get there to visit, let alone swim.
