Hello, my good friend since childhood, Debbie, has been diagnosed with liver and kidney failure this past year.

About 5 years ago, my friend was diagnosed with fatty liver disease. Through the years, it had unfortunately gotten more severe, and just as her levels began to improve, her health took a turn for the worse, which led to her seeing doctor after doctor, on an ongoing roller coaster trying to get her levels stable, as she waits to be transferred to another specialist.

Debbie has never been a drinker, other than socially, once in a blue moon, but a couple of years ago she did have triple bypass surgery and had 5 blood transfusions. She's been diagnosed with hepatitis C; however, the hospital never informed her of her diagnosis, which left this horrible disease untreated for a couple of years as it did tremendous damage to her liver and caused rheumatoid arthritis.

Debbie is a loving mother to 3, sister to 1, and grandmother to 6. She also is the one to turn to when you need a laugh or warm hug. Debbie would do anything to protect her family, no matter the obstacles. She would do anything to mend any of the missing pieces together, being the ultimate glue of the family.

As we navigate through this heartbreaking journey, we are reaching out for your support.
