Debbie has always been the kind of friend who greets you with a warm 'Hey Sista!' and makes you feel instantly welcome. She’s the person who shows up for others, offering support and kindness whenever it’s needed. Now, after a devastating accident, Debbie is the one who needs our help.
On January 5th, Debbie was driving home from work when another car crossed the center line and hit her head-on at 55 miles an hour. She had no time to react, and the impact left her with eight broken ribs on her right side, two on her left, two broken bones in her left wrist, a broken right kneecap, a deep gash on her left knee, two broken legs from the knee down, and two broken ankles. Her right ankle was completely crushed, and after much consideration, Debbie has decided to have it amputated so she can walk again. She will soon begin intensive rehab at Madonna to start her journey toward healing.
Debbie faces a long road ahead, filled with medical bills, living expenses, and the challenges of recovery. She has always been there for her friends and community—now it’s our turn to be there for her. Any support you can give will help Debbie heal, rebuild her life, and remind her that she’s surrounded by people who care. Thank you for standing with her during this difficult time.
