Hello! I’m starting this fundraiser for my mom, Debbie Pratt.

About 8 years ago, my mom bravely fought breast cancer. She went through chemotherapy and radiation and thankfully beat it. Since then, she has continued doing what she’s always done—working nonstop and taking care of others.

Recently, our family has been hit with unexpected news. My mom is now experiencing serious heart issues for the first time in her life. After multiple tests, including a heart catheterization that showed no blocked arteries, doctors believe the damage may be from the chemotherapy she received years ago.

Because of this, she may be taken off work temporarily, but we are not sure for how long, while she focuses on getting her health back.

This is especially hard because my mom has always been one of the hardest workers I know. She has worked at Arrow in Breese for 31 years and also works at The Villas in Breese, caring for the elderly—people who truly love her as much as she loves them.

She regularly works long hours and picks up shifts whenever she can. She has always been the one helping others, never asking for anything in return.

Now, she’s facing the possibility of not being able to work and she’s worried about how she will make it through this time.
