Hello, my name is Debbie. I am currently facing bladder cancer, and I do not have insurance. My husband Charles and I have struggled to afford coverage for me, and it has been over a year and a half since I last had insurance. Recently, Charles rushed me to the emergency room at Bay Scott White Centennial after I was unable to urinate and noticed only blood in the toilet. The medical team performed a CT scan and admitted me right away. Early the next morning, the urologist informed me that I had a mass in my bladder that needed to be removed and examined. My kidney function was also declining rapidly.
I underwent surgery to remove part of the growth, and it was confirmed to be bladder cancer. I now have a nephrostomy tube in my right kidney and a catheter. My husband has Parkinson’s, and we have not been able to afford insurance for me. The situation has been overwhelming, both emotionally and financially, as we try to navigate these health challenges together.
The funds raised will go directly toward my medical bills, chemotherapy treatment, surgery, and other necessary treatments. The most critical needs right now are chemotherapy and surgery, which are essential for my recovery and well-being. Your prayers and financial support, if you feel so led, would be truly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read my posting. God bless. Debbie
