Help Debbie Beat Leukemia!
Donation protected
On September 8, 2018, Debbie was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Her first stay at the hospital for chemotherapy started on September 10th and since then, she has endured numerous other hospital stays enduring rounds of the horrendous drugs needed to keep her leukemia blasts at bay. This disease is so harsh & life changing.
Since Debbie's immune system is in such a weakened & fragile state after each chemo treatment, she has also had to fight a multitude of infections, some of which put her right back in the hospital.
Debbie is scheduled to receive a life saving Stem Cell Transplant in the middle of March 2019. After about a month long hospital stay, she will need to stay in temporary housing very close to MD Anderson for about 2 months because of her extremely compromised immune system. If for some reason she contracts any kind of infection or illness, she cannot be any farther than 15 minutes away from MD Anderson.
Debbie is a wife, a mother, a sister, aunt, niece, beloved friend & co-worker, she is a strong & God fearing woman & she is fighting with a fierceness that I cannot put into words. You don’t know how STRONG you are until being STRONG is the ONLY CHOICE you have.
As you can imagine, the financial burdens are adding up quickly. Every time you turn around, another treatment, another test or another medication is prescribed. They are being strapped with about $16,000 worth of deductible and out of pocket expenses between 2018 & 2019. In addition, there are various prescriptions & procedures that her insurance doesn't cover. There is also a loss of income, that will increase the burden when her short term disability ends and long term begins in the beginning of March. Can you imagine losing 40% of your income?
We have ALL loved somebody with cancer. Cancer doesn't discriminate - unless you want to agree that it seems to inflict some of the BEST - NICEST - GOOD HEARTED - GENUINE & SINCERE people that walk this earth.
Debbie has fought her Support Squad for months on publishing this GoFundMe. It is hard to swallow your pride when you are in need and you are used to being the servant. However, their needs are at a point that avoiding help is not an option. Therefore, we have decided to ask on her behalf and beg for forgiveness later!
To lessen the burden on Debbie & her family & allow her to continue the fight without unnecessary worries, please consider making a donation to help with finances. Gifts of any size are appreciated & if you're not able to give, please consider sharing her story with family & friends on social media. Every little bit helps!
On behalf of Debbie, her family & friends, please accept a HUGE thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
Your donation or share is an answer to prayers. GOD is GOOD, All the time!
