Help Deb see the world through new eyes!

Hi friends, community, and larger world,

I am opening a Gofundme account on behalf of my dear friend Deb. She has been waiting for nearly half a year to get cataract surgery, which is currently scheduled for next week. She has been going progressively blind in the long process of waiting for this surgery- and being an artist, she's been using the spots in front of her eyes to make new incredible paintings, and has been keeping her spirit up in the process. Just yesterday she received a notice from the hospital that her stay there won't be covered by insurance, and that it will be $3000. This is out of her range to afford, and would prevent her from being able to get the surgery, which would in turn prevent her from doing all that she wants to do in her life, or being able to get out into the world almost at all.

As soon as I heard this from her, my heart moved me to want to help. This human is one of the most generous, loving, and kindly people I've ever encountered- always there to be an ear and listen to and help others. She has transformed and supported my life in more ways than I can count. It occurred to me that if even only 33 of us donated $100, we could perform a miracle in her life, one she greatly deserves (this includes covering the tax she will have to pay on the money). Any donation, however, at all, would be very grateful received! She is due for this surgery next Tuesday (Australia time, Monday USA time), so nows the moment if you can.
