Hi y’all… my name is Doug Marchal.. Big brother to my sweet younger sister Deb Marchal… whom I’m starting this GoFundMe for… on March 12th of this year, the log home our Dad left to us after he passed, which became my sister's residence, caught fire when she was at work. Thankfully, she is ok, but she lost her dog Ginger, her cat Abby Sciuto, and her bird Bird-bird in the fire… along with a majority of the stuff inside… a lithium battery she had plugged in to charge exploded and started the blaze… to make matters even worse… the insurance company that had covered the property for our Dad dropped the property after his passing and would not let her insure the home through them… since then she/we have been turned down by several insurance companies due to the fact it is a 100% log home… most won’t insure them if they are over a certain % of logs… some will only cover them if they are 20% logs or less… so unfortunately the home is not covered by insurance… making this GoFundMe even more needed than ever… my sister is a sweet lady. Never married, so her animals were her “kids”… I’m not able to help her as much as I would love to, so here we go… I’ve never done anything like this before and it feels a little strange asking people for this kind of help… but if you don’t try, you will never know if it could have helped… every little bit will help tremendously… Thank you all for reading this!!
