Help Deb Maintain Her Independence Through It All

If you know my mom, Deb, you know one thing for sure! She does things her way.

For the past few years, she has been living with terminal cancer. Through it all, she continues to show incredible strength. Some days she’s walking, some days she’s in a wheelchair. Some days are spent in treatment getting radiation , scans,and others are spent doing what her and Jack love most: getting outside, feeling the sunshine on her face, and even riding on the motorcycle with Jack when she can.

She is still HER…strong, determined, and in good spirits.

But if you really know Deb, you also know her heart.

She has spent her life taking care of others. From helping with animal rescues across the country, to staying closely connected with her kids, to sending thoughtful gifts and even donating to complete strangers just because she felt called to help. She has always been someone who gives without hesitation.

That’s just who she is

Independence has always meant everything to my mom. And even now, that hasn’t changed. One thing that is very important to her is being able to take care of her own final arrangements. She has been very clear about this. In her words, she doesn’t want her family to have to worry about it while we’re grieving.

As her daughter, of course I wish I could just take care of this for her. Our family feels the same. But if you know Deb, you know she’s a little stubborn. No wait, A LOT stubborn LOL in the best way though. She wants to handle this herself.

So with her full permission, we’re setting up this GoFundMe to help her cover the cost of her cremation.

She also wants to be completely transparent. The goal amount reflects exactly what is needed, and once that amount is reached, this fundraiser will be taken down.

This isn’t about sadness! It’s about honoring who she is: independent, thoughtful, and always thinking of others, even now.
