Hello All,

My name is Liz Aviles, and my friend Natalie Zorovich and I are fundraising to help our dear friend Deborah Draznin's husband Loren McRoss with the medical expenses that he and his family now face. On August 3, after years of chronic illness, Deborah, our dear "Deb," passed away in her sleep from heart failure. Her passing is devasting to her husband Loren and their beloved son David, aged 17. Despite having suffered from Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, a painful condition that Deb lived with bravely for many years, her death came as a shock to us all.

Loren, Deb's loving husband and devoted father to David, has also battled the devasting effects of diabetes. He is still recovering from reconstructive surgery on his right foot and a below the knee amputation of his left leg in September 2020. He has only recently been able to start walking therapy but still cannot drive.

Sadly, even the most stable homes can be overwhelmed by medical costs in our society. Natalie and I ask you to please consider donating to help Loren cope with the strain of this financial burden as he also grieves for his wife and comforts their son. Your generosity will mean so much to them and honor a woman who was always first to extend kindness and assistance to her friends, her family, and the many adopted animals she loved and cared for during her all too brief life.
