Help Dearbhail Fight Nasal Cancer
Donation protected
This is Dearbhail. She's a 7 year old Kerry Blue Terrier recently diagnosed with nasal cancer.
She is the smartest, most communicative, dramatic dog I've ever met.
She's always gotten her food in her crate. One time, when she was a puppy, she decided that I hadn't fed her enough for her liking.
She pawed her food bowl out of the crate and then dragged it across the hardwood floor to where I was sitting, scraping loudly the whole way. When she got to my side, she sighed loudly and flopped down, dropping her head in her empty bowl.
I am amazed every day with how clearly she speaks without words. She loves greeting new people and always watches people talking on the sidewalk with the hope that they are talking about her, so she has reason to say hello.
When I lost my other dog last year, she took it as her job to stop my tears with furious face licks every time I cried.
I want to give her the best chance at more years.
The only treatment for this type of cancer is radiation, which is very hard on dogs, because unlike people they have to be anesthetized to undergo treatment. The safest form of radiation treatment for them is stereostatic radiation, which only requires 3 treatments, instead of the 20-30 of standard radiation.
However, it is also the most expensive, easily $10k-$15k. I have about half of what it would cost for treatment, but I can't get her anything if I can't pay for all of it.
So, I am asking for your help.
Please help me save my little girl.
