Deanna Decarlo, unexpectedly collapsed on Friday, July 13 from unknown reasons. She was traveling to California to attend one of her best friend’s funeral. She stopped in Las Vegas to see her friend Kelly Mitchell from high school, an EMT who was there with her when Deanna collapsed. Kelly administered CPR within minutes of the collapse. She was able to revive her, but Deanna flatlined again in the ambulance and went into cardiac arrest. She was unresponsive at the hospital and was put on life support. Deanna’s mother, Cathy Beck received the news Friday night and flew from North Carolina to Las Vegas and arrived Saturday afternoon. Deanna’s condition became worse Saturday morning and they found severe brain damage. On Saturday, July 14 they declared Deanna brain dead. She had no drugs in her system, and they are still unclear what caused her to go into cardiac arrest. Her son, Ryan Carsten drove from Ohio to Las Vegas and arrived last night. Her sister, Glori Keating flew from North Carolina to Las Vegas and arrived on Sunday. Deanna is surrounded by her friends and family, Erik Pingel, Randy Carsten, Kelly Mitchell, with more family and friends trying to make their way down to see her. The hospital gives 3 days for a patient to show signs of recovery, but after 3 days they remove the life support and expect Deanna to pass away peacefully. Deanna’s son Ryan is with her now facing some tough decisions. Deanna is a loving mother to her son Ryan Carsten, a beloved daughter, cherished sister, and a great friend. This has been an unexpected tragedy and very costly. Today, we are asking for not just your prayers, but any donations to help with some of the financial strain that her family has found themselves trying to overcome.
Please help! Any donation and especially your prayers are appreciated!
