Help Us Rebuild: A Family of Fighters and Rescue Pups
Donation protected
My name is DeAnna, and the past year has been a whirlwind of challenges. Last March, I lost my job of ten years—a blow I never saw coming. Since then, I’ve been tirelessly searching for a new position while building an Etsy shop and exploring every avenue I can to regain financial stability. I’m a fighter, but right now, I need a little help to keep going.
I live with my best friend, David, who’s been my rock. David was born with Hirschsprung’s disease and later had a surgery that left him with chronic pain. Despite these serious disabilities, the government has repeatedly denied his applications for disability income. He runs a small eBay store to get by, but it’s not enough.
Then there’s our two rescue Beagles, May and Fionn—our little beacons of joy. May came to us from an SPCA, an abandoned hunting dog found alone in the woods with Lyme disease and a severe skin condition. Fionn was a stray from rural North Carolina, rescued with heartworm disease. When we met him at an adoption event, he was the most timid, withdrawn dog I’d ever seen. Today, they’re both healthy and happy, and their wagging tails remind us daily of what love and resilience look like.
But here’s the reality: our savings are gone. I just want to take care of my family again—David, May, Fionn, and myself. Rent where we live is sky-high, and even if I land a new job soon, staying here would be a struggle. I’m raising funds to cover necessities and to move closer to friends who can support us through this storm.
How You Can Help
If you’re able to contribute, every dollar counts—whether it’s $5, $25, or $100, it’s a lifeline for us. Beyond donations, here’s what would mean the world:
* Prayers or kind words to lift our spirits.
* Sharing my campaign with your network.
* DMing me gift cards for dog food on X @livewellian
I know so many are struggling right now, so thank you for taking the time to read our story. Any help you can offer—big or small—restores my faith in the power of community. I’ll keep you updated on our journey, and despite how heavy things feel, I’m holding onto hope and gratitude. Thank you for being part of our story.
