My name is Josh, and I’m reaching out because my family is facing an incredibly tough time. My wife, Deanna, recently had her second brain surgery in ten years. Unfortunately, the surgery didn’t go well—she faced serious complications, spent time in a medically induced coma, and was in and out of the ICU with pneumonia and other setbacks. Now, Deanna is in a wheelchair with very limited mobility, and she’s working hard to learn to walk again. She hasn’t had use of her right hand in ten years, and now she can’t even raise it. She needs help with almost everything, and I’m doing my best to care for her and our two children: our baby girl, who is just 20 months old, and our 10-year-old son, Myles.
Because Deanna needs full-time care and we can’t afford daycare or a full-time nurse, I’ve had to stop working. My days are filled with cooking, cleaning, changing diapers for both Deanna and the baby, and managing therapy at home. We’re struggling to keep up with medical bills, regular bills, and urgent needs. Deanna’s insurance won’t cover a new sleep PAP machine, and the one she has isn’t working well—she’s still having trouble breathing at night. We need medical supplies like diapers and a shower chair, and we need to build a ramp for our home so Deanna can get in and out safely. Our car is currently not working, but we need it for Deanna’s many follow-up appointments and trips to Charlotte several times a week. We also need help with gas, Myles’ tutoring, and babysitting for days when Deanna has big appointments.
We are doing everything we can, but it feels like we can never catch a break. Any support means the world to us right now. Thank you for considering helping our family during this difficult time.
