For 25 plus years, Deana has dedicated her life to caring for others. As a compassionate, selfless neuro nurse, she has spent her career providing comfort, medical care, and support to countless patients, always going above and beyond to make a difference in the lives of those she serves. Whether it was holding the hand of a frightened patient, offering a listening ear to a worried family member, or simply providing expert care, she has been a constant source of support and kindness.

She has mentored many of us as well, teaching us what it truly means to be a nurse. Over the years, Deana took the time to teach us not only nursing skills but also the compassion and dedication that define great care. These lessons have stayed with us all, helping to shape the nurses we are today. Although our careers have taken different paths, her influence continues to guide us and we are so grateful for the wisdom she has shared. And we thank her for being a mentor and a model of what it means to truly care.

Now, its our turn to give back.

Deana made the difficult decision to get a craniotomy in an attempt to de-bulk a brain tumor that has been causing her debilitating seizures. She was experiencing new symptoms and was given short notice about requiring surgery to mitigate these symptoms. Her initial plan was to return to work shortly after the surgery, however she is faced with physical barriers to her strength that will not allow her to return to the bedside as quickly as she had hoped. She is gearing up for a long and challenging recovery.

We are reaching out to her community--her past and present colleagues, mentees, friends and family-- to help support her during this difficult and stressful time. We are asking for your help to provide financially support during this difficult time so she can fully focus on her recovery without the added stress of financial burdens. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a huge difference and show Deana how much she is loved and appreciated.
