Hello, thank you for visiting our Go Fund Me site. On Friday, August 14 our brother in law Dean was admitted to Buffett Cancer Center in Omaha and diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. This diagnosis came out of no where and caught this hard working husband, father, grandpa, teacher and coach completely off guard and left their already busy family with a lot of unknowns including a wide variety of expenses that come with this diagnosis.
Dean and his family are WELL loved and respected by their community, school, friends and family and everyone is looking for ways to help. Other than offering much needed prayer, we also wanted to set up a way we could all help with medical and travel expenses.
Dean is a fighter and has already started his chemo which will continue into the future as well as needing a bone marrow transplant. The date of the transplant is unknown but will also add to the medical and travel expenses. The family has been told he will require a 30 day hospital stay after the transplant and will need to stay close to hospital for the next 70 days after that. So obviously the need is great.
Covid has added another level of difficulty to this diagnosis and made it difficult to show our love and support in person but this is a way we can take some of the heavy load off his family and give back to this family that has given so freely to all of us.
Again, Dean has already started treatment with more treatment and hospital stays to come which means the need is immediate. Please continue to pray for Dean and his family and donate if you feel led. Thank you so much!
