My son, Dean, and his young family were brazenly attacked on Sunday, November 6.  Thieves broke into their home, while they were out, and stole numerous items - many of which we will never be able to replace. During the burglary, the thieves found Dean's car keys and stole his vehicle from their driveway and left... thinking that they had the opportunity, the thieves returned at the same time Dean and his family were coming home, rammed him and his family in his fiancée’s car, and sped away. The vehicle has not yet been recovered and we have little hope that it will be...

Being a young family, in their first home with a new baby, Dean was big on trying to save money. He opted last year to remove comprehensive coverage from his insurance in an effort to reduce his monthly bills. His car was not special, not fancy, but it was paid off and got him to and from work. None of us felt that the comprehensive coverage was beneficial - not even our insurance carrier - and removing it saved him a significant amount of money each year.  Now that the car has been stolen, even though it was in connection with a home robbery, the insurance company is declining to cover the vehicle - at all.  He has no vehicle, and now has no option to find another that he can afford. 

My goal here is not to help Dean buy a new vehicle, but simply help him with a purchase of (or down payment on) another used vehicle, modest in value, so that he can regain some semblance of normalcy following this tragic event.
