My name is Charlotte, and I’m fundraising for my husband, Dean, who is once again facing something no one ever expected to return — a brain tumour he first battled when he was just 3 years old. After everything he went through as a child, we truly believed that chapter was behind him. To be told, decades later, that it has come back has shaken our family to the core.

Dean is an HGV driver and a devoted dad to our two young girls. He is hardworking, loving, and always the first to help anyone else. Seeing him go through this again has been heartbreaking.

At the end of December, a brain scan showed a new problem on the left side of his brain, in an area responsible for balance, coordination, facial movement, and vital body functions. The area is swollen, and the swelling is pressing on nearby parts of the brain. These changes also spread into the part of the brain that helps with balance and along some of the brain’s natural pathways and surfaces.

In simple terms, there is new and significant swelling in a critical part of Dean’s brain — and we are suddenly in a fight we never expected to relive.

Dean now has to travel to Brighton every day for appointments and treatment. The cost of fuel, daily parking, and constant travel is becoming overwhelming. On top of that, Dean is unable to work right now, and the loss of income has put huge pressure on us. With two young children and everyday bills that don’t stop, we are struggling.

We are asking for help to cover:

• Daily travel to Brighton for treatment

• Parking costs

• Household bills while Dean is out of work

• Any additional medical or care-related expenses
