Help Dean Bring Mental Health Awareness Through Music

Hello friends and family! My name is Dean Vivirito. I have been a music maker all my life and a music teacher since 2007. I am embarking on an exciting new album which aims to highlight the importance of treating mental health concerns. My own untreated traumas have caused emotional distress for myself and those I love.

Thematically, the album, Fall in Love with Your Sound, will reflect my desire to dispel the shame associated with emotional struggles, particularly for men, and my desire for contrition, healing, forgiveness, and reconciliation within myself and for my loved ones.

The current rising rates of depression are alarming and far-reaching. According to the WHO, social isolation and difficulties working, visiting family, and feeling like part of the community are some of the reasons for the increase in depression and anxiety post-COVID. Ever-emerging research reveals that music, and art in general, can offer a direct aid to emotional well-being: Sound Health Network.

The best part about being an artist is the opportunity and responsibility I am afforded to manifest some good in the world. As a teacher, I am privileged to help guide the development of children. My daily experiences with students remind me that the true purpose of music is its function as an integral element of health and spirituality.

This project is a marriage of my two great passions, music and mental health. Any contribution you can make to my album will be helping me bring more of the healing power of music to the world! A portion of all donations will be shared with NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness).
