Hello, my name is Michael Phillips and I am Fundraising to help A rare disorder makes it difficult for food and liquid to pass into the stomach.
Achalasia results from damage to nerves in the food tube (esophagus), preventing the esophagus from squeezing food into the stomach. It may be caused by an abnormal immune system response.
Symptoms include backflow of food in the throat (regurgitation), chest pain, and weight loss.
Achalasia can usually be managed with minimally invasive (endoscopic) therapy or surgery.
I have had to deal with this condition for 7 months now and find that my medical bill is going up with each visit to the doctor's office which is currently unpaid. I live in a one-bedroom apartment which is on the 3 floors of the building. each day I have a lot of issues going up those steps due to no elevator in the building. So your donation will help me get a down payment to relocate to a better housing accommodation on the first of a building and therefore increase my recovery process after my surgery.
At present, I am losing weight and having trouble accessing resources for the body to keep the weight on while I wait for my surgery. I can only have liquid food such as ensure, water, and some processed baby food.
How I will use the funds given is as followed:
1. will help pay for the deposit to rent the new apartment space to accommodate me and my daughter.
2. will help with medical bill co-payments
3. will help buy the ensure supplies for my recovery
