Help Deaks get to America
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Bree.
My son Deakon who lives and breaths basketball has the opportunity to be able to go to America in December 2025.
Deakon has a love for basketball that is truly amazing.
I sent Deakon to a holiday camp (for a bit of peace and quiet ) when I returned to collect him later that day I was asked if he could play basketball for New Norfolk u12 boys, that he had natural talent. I laughed, my 6 year old was being asked to play with an u12s team. I had to explain that he wouldn't be able to as he was 6 years of age.
From that moment on Deakon's love and passion for basketball has only grown.
Deakon now plays in social, domestic CAM and attends Tasmanian SDP as well as referees for other teams on nights that he doesn't have training or games himself. Deakon also helps out with Aussie hoops programs when he is available to help develop younger children to have the love for the game that he himself has.
Earlier this year he represented his FDP team in Albury.
Deakons dream was to be able to go to America to watch a NBA game and hopes that one day he will be able to attend college over there. BIG dreams he knows but he works hard.
Basketball Tasmania offers a trip to America with a long itinerary every two years, this trip is 19 days worth of basketball, including attending colleges, playing against other teams and watching a NBA game just to list a few things.
2025 is Deakons year, alot of his dreams would come true if we could make this happen.
In order for this to happen, Deakon needs your help and support to raise funds to make this possible for him.
So from a mum that would love her 13 year old sons dreams come true I would like to thankyou in advance for any donation no matter the size, I know times are tough for everyone at this point in time and I can not express my gratitude for everyone that is able to help Deakon on this journey.
Thankyou!
