We (Tristan and Kim) entered 2026 with hope, expecting our fourth child. Early in the year, I experienced a severe bleed and had to take an ambulance to the hospital, fearing the worst. Thankfully, it was not a miscarriage but a subchorionic hemorrhage, and I was put on bed rest. During this time, my husband Tristan was laid off from work. Without his income, we couldn’t pay rent and were evicted from the home we’d lived in for seven years. We lost almost everything we owned, including the place where we raised our 7-year-old daughter, and had to move in with my mom to start over.

While living with my mom, I reached 18 weeks of pregnancy when my water broke. Doctors told us there was nothing they could do because the baby wasn’t yet viable. We had to wait and hope, knowing there was a high risk of infection for both me and the baby. During this time, our Ford Flex broke down completely, and our truck developed serious issues, making it even harder to get by. Despite everything, we made it to 23 weeks and 4 days, and I was admitted to the hospital to keep the baby and myself safe. We hoped to make it to 34 weeks, but at 26 weeks and 6 days, I had an emergency and was rushed into a C-section.

Our baby boy, Deacon, has now been in the NICU for 14 days. He is intubated and on a ventilator, has already had two surgeries, and currently has a colostomy bag. But he is strong and fighting hard. We are asking for any donation possible so we can get back on our feet and provide a stable, safe home for our three daughters and our baby boy.
