Help DC Students Shine In Business Competition

Hello,

My name is Mr. Kizer. I am a Business Management and Entrepreneurship teacher in Washington, DC. I'm looking for support in helping a group of juniors and seniors reach their highest possibilities in a very promising opportunity.

The juniors and seniors in my Entrepreneurship class are all eligible to participate in a regional business competition run by the non-profit organization NFTE (The Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship). The competition is called the World Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge.

The World Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge (WYEC) is a signature global event that brings together student entrepreneurs from NFTE’s international partner network and the U.S. National Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge. At the regional competition, students participate in a series of private events—focused on learning, coaching, and global connection—that culminate in a public showcase and final pitch competition. WYEC is a celebration of innovation, cross-cultural collaboration, and youth-led business leadership on a global scale. This year's competition will be held on May 30th in Tyson's Corner.

I'm seeking support to help my students produce and provide tangible items for their presentation at the pitch competition. Throughout the year, the students participate in rigorous activities that help shift their thinking to be entrepreneurs and the creativity/problem-solving it takes to succeed. After they complete their curriculum, they then use a lean canvas outline to build their businesses. These group of students are creating businesses in the fields of fashion, cosmetics, photography, mental health, and community. Your donations will go towards materials for each student to create actual products for their businesses, but more importantly, towards them physically seeing their possibilities. These are very smart and creative students. There is so much that can come from your help. I greatly appreciate you!

Please take a look at some of the images and videos below for examples of us in class and the competition.
