Help Daymar Overcome Her Medical Crisis Abroad

Dear Friends, Family, and Community,

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to you today with a heavy heart to share some news about our beloved granddaughter, Daymar Jusino Planas. She is currently outside of the country celebrating her 15th birthday when she became critically ill and required immediate medical attention. Daymar is characterized by being a healthy, athletic and active teenager with no previous health concerns, which is why this illness took us all by surprise.

Although the doctors have not been able to identify the source of her illness, they are certain that it is a microbial infection which restricts her from the ability to return home for the time being. She has been in critical condition as she presented with signs of sepsis, problems with coagulation, decreased blood pressure and systemic inflammation. Several organ groups began showing signs of failure including her liver, kidneys and heart. During the first week in the hospital in Greece, she has undergone necessary and expensive medical therapies to stabilize her. Fortunately, she has responded well to the antibiotics she is being treated with and is on a path to recovery. However, at this moment she remains in the hospital unable to return home, and because she is in a different country where her medical insurance lacks coverage, the family is expected to pay out-of-pocket for all the medical care she is receiving. As her loving family, we are doing everything in our power to ensure she receives the best possible treatment and care. However, the financial burden of her medical expenses is overwhelming, and we find ourselves in a difficult situation.

We have exhausted our personal resources and are reaching out to our community for support. Our goal is to raise funds to cover the cost of Daymar's medical treatment, and any additional medical expenses that may arise during her treatment abroad.

Every contribution, no matter how big or small, will make a significant difference in her outcome. Your generosity will not only alleviate the financial strain but also provide us with the peace of mind to focus solely on her recovery.

Espero que al recibo de este mensaje se encuentren bien y en salud. Les escribo hoy con pesar para compartir algunas noticias sobre nuestra querida nieta, Daymar Jusino Planas. Actualmente se encuentra fuera del país celebrando su quinceañero cuando se enfermó gravemente y requirió atención médica inmediata. Daymar se caracteriza por ser una adolescente sana, atlética y activa sin problemas de salud previos, por lo que esta enfermedad nos tomó a todos por sorpresa.

Aunque los médicos no han podido identificar la fuente de su enfermedad, están seguros de que es una infección microbiana que le impide la posibilidad de regresar a casa por el momento. Ha estado en estado crítico, ya que presentaba indicios de sepsis, problemas de coagulación, disminución de la presión arterial e inflamación sistémica. Varios grupos de órganos comenzaron a mostrar indicios de insuficiencia, incluyendo su hígado, sus riñones y su corazón. Durante la primera semana en el hospital de niños en Atenas Grecia, se ha sometido a terapias médicas necesarias y costosas para estabilizarla. Afortunadamente, ha respondido bien a los antibióticos con los que está siendo tratada y está en camino a recuperación. Sin embargo, en este momento ella permanece en el hospital sin poder regresar a casa, y debido a que está en un país diferente donde su seguro médico no tiene cobertura, la familia es responsable de cubrir todos los gastos medicos de forma personal. Como su cariñosa familia, estamos haciendo todo lo que está a nuestro alcance para asegurarnos de que reciba el mejor tratamiento y cuidado posible. Sin embargo, la carga financiera de sus gastos médicos es abrumadora, y nos encontramos en una situación difícil.
