Day's Kidney Cancer & Stage 4 Endometriosis Fight

Dear Friends, Family, and Supporters,

Our dear colleague and friend, Daylingh Herrera, is going through a tough time, and we're reaching out to our community to stand by her and show our strong support. If you know Daylingh, you're aware of her wonderful qualities – her kindness, positivity, and dedication. These traits not only make her an exceptional coworker but also an extraordinary person who has deeply impacted all of us. Now, as she faces a challenging health journey, we have the opportunity to rally around her and provide the support she needs during this difficult time.

In recent weeks, Daylingh has shown incredible bravery as she deals with health issues that have brought her pain and uncertainty. Recently, she received the diagnosis of kidney cancer as well as advanced stage 4 endometriosis, a chronic illness that starts in the reproductive system, forming cysts and adhesions that cause organs to “stick” together and cause debilitating pain. On September 14th, she'll undergo surgery to remove two-thirds of her kidney. The doctors are hopeful that the kidney cancer can be treated primarily through surgery; however, they will not have the full picture until after the surgery. Daylingh's journey to recovery doesn't end there.

She will also undergo an extensive and complex surgery to address the endometriosis that has spread outside of her reproductive system, affecting multiple organs, muscles, and arteries. The masses on her inguinal groin and ilia are pressing on her femoral artery, restricting blood flow and oxygen, causing additional challenges to her health. This condition has been causing her severe pain and physical limitations, significantly impacting her ability to work and engage in her daily activities. Additionally, her medical team is investigating the possibility of other reproductive cancers, and further testing will be conducted in the weeks ahead.

It is with a heavy heart that we acknowledge the financial strain that accompanies such a challenging health journey. Daylingh's ability to work will be very limited leading up to her surgeries and during her recovery period. While we are doing all we can to support her within our company, the financial burden of medical expenses and time away from work is substantial.
