Dear Friends,

Please Consider helping our family as my dad (Dayl Wood) battles pancreatic cancer.

A little background...

Dayl was diagnosed with stage 2 pancreatic cancer a little over a month ago when they discovered a tumor on his pancreas that has recently been the root of considerable pain. Moving forward, Dayl will undergo 4-6 months of chemotherapy and Lord willing this will be effective in shrinking the tumor enough for it to be safely removed in surgery. Pancreatic cancer is notoriously stubborn and complicated and we are doing our best to trust God and take things day by day. Despite his circumstances and the abrupt shock to daily life, Dayl continues to persevere and remains in good spirits. We ask for your continued encouragement and prayer as things will likely get harder before they get easier.

Throughout my life, my dad has exemplified humility, kindness, and selfless love. I owe so much to both of my parents and can't put into words just how much they have inspired who I am. Over the years, I have also witnessed the incredible impact my dad has made not only with his family but also in his career and throughout our community. As a health teacher and surf instructor for almost 30 years, my dad has encouraged and brought a smile to so many faces. The ripple affect of Dayl Wood and the stoke he has shared with others is truly staggering.

Everyone that has experienced the pleasure of hanging out with Dayl probably has a story, if not several, of how he has changed their life for the better. My dad has always lived to love and bless others and would be the first to say that this ability to love so freely is only possible by the grace of God in his own life. We trust wholly in God's will for our family and hope to continue to reflect God's light in our lives even in temporary moments of darkness.

We hope that you join us in Continued prayers for Dayl's healing and in the meantime the courage to suffer well for God's glory. We are also praying for wisdom for the medical staff at OHSU and strength for our entire family during this challenging time.
