We are raising funds to help support a family during one of the most challenging times of their lives as their child undergoes medical treatment. All donations will go directly toward covering medical bills, treatment-related expenses, housing, utilities, transportation, and basic living needs. These funds will help ease the financial stress so the family can focus on caring for their child and being together during this critical time. Every donation, share, and kind word means more than we can express—thank you for helping support this family with love and compassion.
Daxton has been fighting aplastic anemia since he was four years old, and watching his strength through it all has been nothing short of incredible. Throughout his journey, he has endured multiple bone marrow scrapes, three blood transfusions, and a platelet transfusion. For several years, doctors were unsure of his diagnosis—he was unique, not textbook. We have been blessed that this condition has not kept him from living life or missing out on the things he loves, though it has slowed him down at times and required him to be more cautious, especially with low platelets, when his blood does not clot the way it should. He went through immune suppression therapy last spring, which unfortunately did not work as we had hoped.
As he now prepares for a bone marrow transplant in the coming months, which is a cure for his condition, he faces a long and challenging recovery. During the transplant, he will have a port placed in his chest and undergo a week-long course of chemotherapy along with one round of radiation. He will spend approximately 60 days in the hospital to ensure the transplant has taken and that there is no graft failure, followed by another 40 days living in Charlotte near the hospital so he can have bloodwork done multiple times a week. Around day 100, he will finally be able to come home. At that point, his immune system will be extremely low, and he will be pulled from school, not returning until January 2027. Through it all, Daxton continues to face everything with remarkable courage and determination. He is brave beyond his years, resilient in ways that inspire us every day, and truly one of the strongest humans we know. Continued prayers for our sweet boy are deeply appreciated.
