Aloha and Mabuhay! My name is Kyle Bernadas, and I’m raising funds for my cousin, Dan Axl “Dax” Claravall, who was recently diagnosed with a cystic lesion in the brain.

This sudden illness has turned his life upside down. He’s a missionary candidate who wants to serve the Lord in a full time mission but is currently physically unable to pursue his desire.

Last October, he experienced sudden blurring of vision & days after had mild to severe headaches. His parents immediately consulted an opthalmologist thinking that he needed a new pair of glasses. They even had a second opinion about his eyesight but the doctor requested an MRI of the brain and orbits.

Results came and it showed a cystic lesion in the suprasellar fossa causing compression of the optic chiasm and moderate obstructive hydrocephalus.

They were asked to seek consultation from a neurosurgeon for interpretation of the said result.

Consultation done and the doctor asked for an ASAP Craniotomy & excision of cyst to prevent further damage to the optic nerves that may lead to blindness. In a month from now, Dax will need to undergo radiation therapy to hopefully remove the remaining cyst.

His parents immediately scheduled him for his operation. Because of the said procedure, the medical costs are far beyond what their family can afford.
