Help Dawnita and Phil in Their Time of Need

Donation protected
Dawnita and Phil are dear friends of mine, an amazing couple who live on a little patch of heaven on Whidbey Island in the Pacific Northwest. Over the years of their sojourn on Whidbey, they have poured out their lives in service to the outcast, the downtrodden, and the hurting in their community. Dawnita has served the homeless in Oak Harbor (the town closest to them and the largest on the island) for many years, those suffering from drug addiction, those cast out from their families and alone in the world. Their 5-acre homestead, named Haven & Harvest, has become a place of refuge for many weary souls. Through their church, Living Faith Christian Center, they have served as bridgebuilders and mentors, encouragers and healers.

In short, Phil and Dawnita are the quiet, humble kind of heroes that bring healing to everything they touch, and keep the world from spinning into chaos.

On Good Friday, April 2025, in the middle of the night, Dawnita suffered a stroke. She is in the hospital now, and her condition and prognosis is not yet clear.

For all that Phil and Dawnita have given to the world with their hearts and their strength, they are not people of great financial means. Like so many people today, the medical bills for what they now face will be well beyond their capacity to pay. They don't know that I am setting up this GoFundMe, and they would never ask.

But I am asking you.

Will you help?

Let's support this amazing couple who have supported so many others with their love and presence.
