Help Dawn Whitehurst's Road to Recovery

Donation protected

Early in the morning on Tuesday, August 24, Dawn Whitehurst suffered a double brain aneurysm while preparing to go on a long run. Within just a few hours, she underwent what was ultimately a successful surgery to save her life. Several more critical operations have since been performed - procedures have come at a cost, physically, emotionally (on the family), and financially.

Currently, Dawn is as stable as can be hoped for. But her road to recovery will most likely be a long one. For the time being, she remains in the ICU while hospital staff continues to monitor her progress and encourage her to respond to vocal commands. When physically possible, she will need rehabilitation for an indefinite amount of time.

Though countless friends and family have already stepped up to help Dawn’s husband, Wade, and four-year-old daughter, Aspen, in various ways such as meals and childcare, many have asked about also supporting financially. To that end, this fundraiser has been created. 100% of all gifts will go to provide for Dawn’s medical care not covered by insurance, as well as immediate needs for the family.
