Help Dawn recover from surgery!

As per my friend Dawn:

My name is Dawn, I am a 22 year old transgender woman currently in Memorial University working towards pursuing my dream career as a therapist while also working full-time. I would like to ask for your help in becoming the truest version of myself before starting this new chapter in my life.

My bottom surgery is scheduled for April 30th 2025, during this time I will have to take leave from work and support myself over the subsequent 6-8 weeks. I have minimal support from my family financially and need savings to continue living on my own, this is very difficult to do on my own due to life’s ever increasing expenses. I’ve been living on my own since I was 17, where I moved out of my grandmothers house that I had been living in due to my mother having a mental health crisis. I could’ve stayed longer but I did not want to burden my lovely grandmother nor did I feel I had a future in the rural community I lived where I could fully be out and myself.

Thanks to the encouragement of those closest to me, I have the strength to overcome mental barriers around notions of “begging” to ask for help in this time of need. My goal is set at $2,000, which would allow me to pay two months of the essentials: utilities, bills, and groceries.
