I’m creating this fundraiser for my dear friend Dawn, who has been navigating an incredibly difficult journey since losing her beloved wife just two short years ago. That loss changed everything. It forced Dawn into an early retirement and left her to manage life on her own, emotionally and financially.

Over the past two years, Dawn has worked hard to regain her footing. She used what little savings she had to pay off debts and stabilize her situation, hoping to move forward with dignity and peace. But due to unexpected complications with her pension and taxes, she’s now facing a devastating financial setback that has left her without enough to cover even the most basic necessities — rent, food, medication, and the ability to stay connected to the world.

Dawn is doing everything she can to fight for what she’s rightfully owed, but the process is slow and uncertain. In the meantime, she’s in urgent need of short-term support to get through this incredibly stressful period. The anxiety and fear she’s experiencing are overwhelming, and she’s at risk of losing the progress she’s fought so hard to make.
