In October 2020, Dawn was diagnosed with not one, but two types of cancer: Invasive Ductile Carcinoma and Ductile In-Situ Carcinoma with the HER2 + protein.

Anyone who knows Dawn will not be surprised to know that she has continued her work as an Engineering Records Specialist with the Metropolitan Council of the Twin Cities throughout her grueling six sessions of chemotherapy. She has been very fortunate to have intermittent FMLA (medical leave) during this battle but that will be reduced to salary continuance 60% in late March.  After she completes her final round of chemotherapy, she will prepare for a series of surgeries including a double masectomy and reconstruction. This will be followed by a year of treatment with Herceptin and possibly radiation, or further chemotherapy.

In order to help our girl with her mortgage payments, utilities, medical bills, and other medical necessities, we are starting this Go Fund Me page so that her family, friends, and others can show their love and support for Dawn as she fights her battle with breast cancer.
