On Christmas morning, December 25, 2025, I suffered a serious back injury that changed my life. I was placed on FMLA at my job after a compound fracture of my T7 vertebrae left me unable to work. As a diabetic, I rely on an insulin pump and supplies to manage my glucose levels, and I also have progressive bone disease that requires nightly teriparatide injections. While I was on sick leave, my employer outsourced my job, leaving me to manage my healthcare on my own.

Now, I am facing the challenge of paying for my COBRA health insurance premiums every month. My fundraiser is set to cover a year of COBRA coverage, so I can maintain access to essential medical care and avoid gaps in treatment.
