My name is Dawn and I am a certified Hospice and Palliative care nurse in a rural part of Northern Arizona. I provide home care to hospice patients. With Snap benefits gone for November, many of my patients are unsure how they will feed themselves and their families. On top of the stress that comes with having a terminal illness, my patients are now worried about having food. FOOD! As their nurse, I am in a unique position to help. I am fundraising today to be able to prepare affordable, shelf stable, meals in a bag for the most vulnerable in my community. Any meals not need by my patients will be donated to my community at large, as our food banks are also feeling the strain right now.
