Help Dawn Baldi Find Relief from Eye Disease

Hi, my name is Dawn Baldi. I’m a mom of 5 boys and work full-time as a purchasing agent. My boys are my whole world and I absolutely love being their mama. My hobbies Include softball and weightlifting.

I had LASIK and have been struggling ever since. I’ve never asked for help in my life, but I need all the help I can get right now. I have seen numerous doctors and was diagnosed with severe lacrimal gland failure, meibomian gland dysfunction, blepharitis, ocular rosacea, and corneal neuralgia. Essentially, I no longer can produce any tears or moisture from the glands in my eyelids, resulting in painful chronic inflammation of my eyeballs and eyelids, causing corneal abrasions, staining, severe light sensitivity, burning and stabbing pain, and issues with vision. Alongside this, I have neuropathic pain in my eyes that causes me to have a constant sensation of cotton balls, dirt, and sticks in my eyes 24/7. They burn and sting this way every waking hour.

I have seen many specialists in the state and have spent over $25k in treatments trying to find a cure. The treatments I have tried are IPL’s, CCH surgery, medication drops, Lipiflow, PRP and autologous drops made from my own blood. There are better treatments out there, but I do not have the funds to try them. I wanted to start this GoFundMe in the hopes to be able to travel and see other doctors with better treatments. Traveling starts to become overwhelmingly expensive and most of the doctors I need to see do not accept insurance.
