I’m davy, but most of you probably already knew that. If you don’t, then it’s nice to meet you! I’m 19, I live in Alexandria, Virginia, and I go the the University of Mary Washington. To make a really long story short, and due to a lot of really unfortunate circumstances (the passing of my mother a few years ago & a lack of family support), I almost certainly won’t be able to come back to campus in a few weeks.
Higher education has always been one of the things I’ve looked forward to after graduating high school, and, being class of 2020, I had a lot of time to really concentrate on what it is I wanted to do when I finally applied after taking a gap year. This would give me the opportunity I’ve always longed for of being able to perfect my craft and learn more about the world of writing than I would have known if I never attended college.
After this first year of college, I can certainly say that I’ve found my place with the eagles .
Let it be said, though, that I am making efforts on my own. I’ve reached out to the financial aid department and I’m working with them to see what they can do. There’s never a guarantee when it comes to federal funding, as I’m sure most will know.
So that’s why I’m making this today. Any and all donations will help me to get back on campus, and I will continue working every opportunity I get to make the money to get back before August 3rd comes. If you know me personally, please don’t hesitate to share. If you can’t donate anything, I appreciate you taking the time out of your day to read down this far.
