My name is Davonne and I have been trying to get out of an abusive relationship for years. I recently moved myself and my kids into my parents' basement in an effort to get away. However, I need $1890 to pay a lawyer in order to file for divorce. I have no income being unemployed and am completely reliant on my abuser for money for myself and my children. He's been violent in the past and last year coerced my 7-year old into drinking enough alcohol she got drunk. I cannot and do not want to reconcile with a man who would deliberately poison my child. I've also had to have a restraining order against him in the past for hurting me.

I would like to be able to serve him papers by the end of July. The lawyer has said that once I've paid her in full it will only take a week or so to draft the papers.

Please consider helping me protect my children and myself. It will mean everything to me to be able to give them a more stable and safer home. I've suffered for 20+ years with his gaslighting, controlling, and abusive behavior and the last thing I want is for my kids to grow up thinking this is normal.
