Help David Welch Rebuild After House Fire

Donation protected
David Welch moved from California to Oklahoma in October of 1994 to be closer to family. He bought a small piece of land right next to his parents property in Kellyville OK, and an old 1984 trailer house and settled nextdoor to them. Not long after Dave encountered a young man with no support from his family and no place to call home and took him in and has provided a home for Joey Franklin to this day. Dave built a life filled with love and hard work. He spent countless hours helping his father work on cars, boats, and other things and was known for his deep devotion to his mother. Over the years, he became a fixture in the community, and especially his workplace. Always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need, offering love, support, and often times giving people money to help them through tough situations. Sadly, David lost both his parents in recent years, but he continues to honor their memory through his kindness and generosity.

On the night of September 3, 2025, after finishing his shift as a security officer in Tulsa, David returned home to a nightmare. While sitting in his truck going through his mail, he saw his home engulfed in flames. He and Joey tried desperately to put out the fire with a garden hose, but it was too late. Kellyville doesn't have a fire department, so the closest first responders had to travel all the way from Sapulpa. The home was already a total loss by the time the Sapulpa Fire Department arrived. Everything David and Joey owned was destroyed—clothes, shoes, furniture, and irreplaceable keepsakes from their parents and childhood. The cause of the fire is still unknown, but it is suspected to be electrical. Due to the age of the trailer home insurance companies wouldn't insure it over $2500 so David did not have any insurance on it.

David and Joey now face the daunting task of rebuilding from nothing. They need help with food, clothing, and shelter, and will eventually need to clear the land and possibly find a new home to move onto the property. David has always been the first to help others, giving his time, support, and even his limited income to those in need. Now, it’s our turn to support him. Your donation will help David recover, rebuild, and remind him that his kindness has not gone unnoticed.
