David is a well loved and important member of the arts community, contributing his time and talents to bringing performers from around the country to the only venue of it's kind in San Diego.


For the past 6 years, David has suffered under the progressive destruction of avascular necrosis in both of his hips. The disease is causing his joints to collapse in on themselves, and there is no cure. To date, he has spent tens of thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours seeking traditional, experimental and alternative treatments for this condition, while enduring incomprehensible pain and an inability to walk or move about normally. Despite his tireless efforts, there has been no solution to this ongoing illness, until now.


David found a surgeon who can perform a double hip replacement, which will (with time) return him to near-normal function, as well as eliminating the debilitating pain that has prohibited him from living a full, free life. The surgeon is out-of-network with his insurance and rehab and physical therapy are not covered at all, but David is determined to pursue this cure to his condition. We are asking you for help to make sure this operation will change his life without landing him in financial ruin. The operation costs, along with unpaid time off from work, and the cost of physical therapy in recovery, are extraordinary.
