My name is David, and I am asking for help to get through one of the hardest periods of my life. I am a software architect, game developer, and RPG publisher, and for more than 10 years I worked at a company believing I had built real stability there. I truly thought I was indispensable and that my loyalty and hard work would be returned with the same loyalty. Instead, being laid off left me feeling blindsided, and the way things unfolded afterward felt deeply misleading and unfair. In my experience, that situation also prevented me from being able to collect unemployment when I needed it most. Since then, the job market has been terrible, and for the past two months I have had no real options while trying to stay afloat.
I have fallen very behind on rent and utilities, and right now I am trying to hold on to the most basic stability while I work toward getting back on my feet. I am also currently without health insurance, so what would normally be small expenses are starting to add up. On top of that, I am in the process of a separation, and there are some related costs involved in making a clean exit. The support from this fundraiser will go toward covering one, and possibly two, months of back rent depending on timing, along with utilities, basic stability, these added uninsured expenses, and the separation-related costs I need to handle. This help would make the difference between having a little breathing room and facing the very real risk of homelessness. If you are able to help, whether by donating or sharing my fundraiser, I would be deeply grateful. Your support would help me stay housed, stabilize my situation, and get through this period safely while I keep looking for work.
